Here is an in-depth list of my all-time favourite TV Shows
*Some Minor Spoilers ahead (for #1 & #2)*

1. Breaking Bad – Quite simply the best TV series ever made. Completely original and ingenious with outstanding acting and great characters that stay not only convey all types of feelings throughout every series, but they also stay with you for a long time after the end. It may be a serious drama, but it is very funny at times. Although every season is incredible I’d have to say season 4 is my favourite, simply because of the literally jaw dropping finale. The only real criticism for me is that the remaining series did not live up to the excitement of the season 4 finale, although I wasn’t disappointed with the ending as I know some people were. Overall, Breaking Bad is one of the smartest and most heart wrenching and exciting TV Series of all time with some truly epic moments that deserves every bit of praise it gets. 10/10

2. The Sopranos – Although I’m fairly new to The Sopranos, as soon as I finished it I felt like I could watch the whole thing all over again straight away. And that doesn’t happen often. Similarly, to other great shows it has moments of really dark drama but also very funny lines that made me laugh out loud. Superb acting from literally everyone involved especially James Gandolfini as Tony and Edie Falco as his long-suffering wife Carmela. I honestly couldn’t pick a favourite episode or season because they are all equally outstanding. My favourite moments though include Christopher’s intervention, Paulie’s shoelace rant and when Carmela finally told Tony her feelings about Furio. I loved the fact that mental health is a very prominent subject throughout The Sopranos, not just with Tony himself but with the others around him, especially when AJ had depression towards the end, that was very moving and heart wrenching to watch. After finishing The Sopranos, it made me wonder why I waited so long to watch it, I should have watched this years ago. 9.7/10

3. Peaky Blinders – Peaky Blinders is probably my favourite British TV drama right now. I didn’t watch it when it first came out on TV, but I heard how popular it was and knew that it had a strong cast. So eventually I had to check it out, and I’m so glad I did, I think I binged the whole of the first season in 1 sitting. I love the storyline and the characters and the acting because it’s all incredible. It’s so exciting as well and unpredictable. I feel like it keeps getting bigger and better with every season and everything is amplified times 10 such as the violence but that just shows how the show is progressing. One thing that makes Peaky Blinders even for special for me is the addition of Tom Hardy as Alfie Solomons, simply because Tom Hardy is my favourite actor of all time and works so well alongside Cillian Murphy who is equally charismatic as Tommy Shelby. I honestly can’t wait for the next season to come out. 9.5/10

4. Orange Is the New Black – One of the most well thought out and emotionally charged, character focused dramas ever. If you have never seen Orange is the New Black, then I fully recommend you give it a go. Filled to the brim with some completely unforgettable and unique characters, each series will have you laughing and crying in equal measure. Especially in some of the later seasons where everything is just cranked up 100%. Based on the real-life true story of main character Piper’s stint in women’s prison, however the real stars of this show are the numerous supporting characters, some of which include my favourite characters in the show such as Suzanne, Gloria, Cindy, Taystee, Red and Nicky. The main thing that I take away from watching each season of Orange is the new Black is just how incredibly clever and likeable it is. My favourite parts of this show are the flashback past stories of the inmates, some of which reveal why they are in prison, whereas others are just there to emphasise something that is happening in the current episode. One thing is for certain with this show, I always look forward to the next season. 9.4/10

5. The Walking Dead – I first started watching The Walking Dead when it started back in 2010, when I was 13 years old. For a long time, The Walking Dead was my favourite thing on TV, the first season was amazing, and while the second season wasn’t as good, I stuck with it. And the next few seasons did improve, however, the last couple of seasons have seen a drop-in quality compared to the previous ones. And I agree, it is not as good as it once was, but I still like it and will begin watching the latest season soon. The first season was just so exciting and original that I don’t think the ideas in the later seasons that were added to push the whole show forward, just haven’t worked as well as first thought. However, regardless of how the show is doing now, there gave been some truly epic and shocking moments in this show that I still think about today. 9.3/10

6. Luther – Luther is a British crime drama series on the BBC starring Idris Elba as the title character DCI John Luther. This is probably one of my favourite British drama series alongside Peaky Blinders. John Luther tackles some very horrible crimes within 4 series and a hell of a lot of drama along the way. One of the most intelligent and thrilling series I’ve ever seen. Idris Elba is such a great actor and plays Luther perfectly as a genius but troubled detective taking on some of London’s most horrific cases. There really aren’t any negatives with this show, it is utterly compelling and powerful. I recommend anyone watching this if they haven’t already. This really isn’t a series where you can rate and compare every season, simply because each season is equally as good as the last. That is how consistently good of a show Luther is. 9.2/10

7. The Blacklist – I pretty much stumbled across The Blacklist when I was looking for a new series to become obsessed with. And it didn’t take me long to become obsessed with this. This show really took me by surprise by how good it is. I watched the first episode not expecting too much, but it hooked me straight away, simply by how thrilling and intelligent it is. And James Spader is excellent as main protagonist/antagonist Raymond Reddington. I will admit tho that some of the storylines in some series have been unnecessarily dragged out, so much so that I have almost given up on the show completely. But, I didn’t, and I am glad I didn’t because the last season was very good and ended on a great cliff-hanger that has me very excited for the new season to start. 8.8/10

8. Game of Thrones – I got into Game of Thrones quite late, I started season 1 when season 4 had just finished. It took me one week to get through the first season and not so long after that I was fully caught up with everyone else. Whilst I enjoyed watching this show, the truth is that I do think it is a bit overrated. There have been some really epic moments in Game of Thrones and some really amazing episodes like Hardhome and The Red Wedding. My favourite character in this would probably be Tyrion. At times I have thought to myself, do I actually like the show? Or do I just continue watching it because I am that invested into it I just have to continue watching to find out how it all ends? I have since come to the conclusion that I do actually like this show and I am excited for the final season. 8.7/10

9. The Office USA – I know The Office has been around for a long time, but this summer just gone myself and my girlfriend watched nearly every season of this amazing show. Seriously one of the best comedies to ever be made, and with such a great cast as well, is it any wonder why The Office has become such a success? I love pretty much every character in this show, the relationships in this show, not just Jim and Pam’s but Jim and Dwight’s, as well as Michael’s relationship with pretty much everyone in the office is very well thought out and brilliantly written. 8.6/10

10. Brooklyn Nine Nine – I have to give major credits to my girlfriend for getting me into Brooklyn Nine Nine about 2 years ago. I had heard of it before then but never gave it a chance. This show has had me seriously laughing out loud, which not many comedies make me do. Yeah, it’s a bit silly but it is very funny at times and has such a great cast that this show really can’t be overlooked. 8.5/10
